The Purpose of Your Technology Business

One of my favorite quotes comes from Peter Drucker:

“The purpose of a business is to get and keep a customer”

If there is one sin we in tech businesses are guilty of, it’s thinking more about how we DO our business, instead of focusing on how we MARKET our business.

I bet you can think of a competitor who is doing better than you - but is not as talented, educated and even customer focused as you are.

Take a look at that competitor’s marketing.  Is it:

  • Focused on solving the clients problem?
  • Information focused, explaining why they are the answere to the clients problem?
  • Full of personality?

Does that give you a clue as to why they are connecting with prospects and getting and keeping more clients than you?
